Richland Township currently has an opening for a Planning Commission Member.  Please submit your resume to: Supervisor Harma at lharma@richlandtwp.net no later than July 11, 2022.

 

The Planning Commission provides community leadership on local planning and development policy.  The Planning Commission is an appointed body that advises the legislative body on planning matters. The Planning Commission has the responsibility to prepare a master plan, which influences the regulations and standards in the zoning ordinance and any future changes to it.

The Planning Commission is also the primary body responsible for approval of Site Plans. Commissioners are responsible to ensure that new development fits the community’s vision for a given site, with help from professional staff or consultants. Planning Commissions also have responsibility for Special Use approvals.

Testing of Bathing Beach Water Quality Resumes

KALAMAZOO, MI — Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department’s Environmental Health Unit began annual water quality monitoring of bathing beaches on Monday, May 23, 2022. The Environmental Health Unit monitors water quality weekly at nine public bathing beaches from Memorial Day through Labor Day every year.

Kalamazoo, MI – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) notified the Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department (KCHCS) that the Omicron variant has been identified in six Kalamazoo County residents.
