The Kalamazoo Conservation District is providing a FREE recycling collection of old or unwanted large agricultural equipment tires and tractor tires for Kalamazoo County residents. The tires that are collected will be recycled and used in roads, driveways, trails, and a variety of other products.
When: September 8, 2022, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Where: Perkins Tire Services, 8333 Woodin, Scotts, Michigan
To allow as many producers as possible to participate, pre-registration is required and there is a 4 large or ag tires limit per resident. The 4-tire limit is for tires from large equipment and tractors for agricultural production that are not easily recycled elsewhere. We will also be accepting up to 10 passenger tires per resident. More information and a link to sign up (required) can be found on our website at
Kalamazoo County residents can sign up for this event and must provide proof of county residency. If you have more than 4 ag/large tires, please note this when prompted on the form. We will contact you prior to the event to let you know if we will have room for more tires (this will depend on how many tires and their sizes are registered for this event).

Certain township residents may be able to get reduced internet

Certain township residents can receive reduced internet access through the new Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). Administered by the Federal Communications Commission, the program provides eligible households up to $30/month off internet bills, as well as a one-time $100 discount off a connected device. Certain internet service providers will also offer high-speed plans that are fully covered by the ACP. To qualify for the program, residents must meet one of three conditions: have an income at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines, participate or have someone in the household participate in a program such as Medicaid, Pell grant, supplemental nutrition assistance, among others, OR meet eligibility criteria for a participating broadband provider existing low-income internet program.
