Currently accepting applications for part-time seasonal work at our Park.  Most work is either in our Concession Stand or preparing the ball fields for games.  The work will begin in early April.  Starting wage is $9.65 per hour.  Applications will be accepted at our office until March 19, 2020.

The following dates are approximate and to give you an idea of the time line:

  • Tree trimming will beign Monday 2/17/2020 and will have full road closures.
  • Construction will begin 3/16/2020 and continue until June.  Please see the attached Traffic Control Plan for the extent as well as the sequence of closures.

A right of way permit has been issued by the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County to do this work.

Also, please note that an access lane to all homes will always be maintained throughout consruction.

Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department is participating today in a statewide effort provided by the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) to offer COVID-19 testing for the most vulnerable and at risk Michiganders- older adults residing in nursing homes and the staff caring for them. This statewide testing endeavor, as announced last week, is in coordination with the Michigan State Police through the State Emergency Operations Center. The Michigan National Guard has also been enlisted to assist in the collection of specimen.

Kalamazoo, MI – Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department’s Area Agency on Aging (AAA) IIIA has joined forces with Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes to streamline distribution of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farmers to Families Food Box Program. On May 8, the USDA approved contracts across the country for the program, which allows local farmers and suppliers to coordinate boxes of fruits, vegetables, and dairy with food banks and Area Agency on Aging across the state. AAA IIIA will receive the first delivery this week.

Attached is a map showing the City's revised 2020 Water System Flushing Schedule, which will begin on June 14, 2020 and continue through June 23, 2020.  Flushing will take place during evening hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. and daytime hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

I-94 Expansion in Kalamazoo

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin construction on Monday, May 18, to prepare a 2.8-mile section of I-94 between Lovers Lane and Sprinkle Road in Kalamazoo to be widened from two lanes to three lanes in each direction.
